Radical Memory Project

Building a Legacy of Intergenerational Learning and Institutional Memory

The Radical Memory Project (RMP) is an exciting new initiative launched by the PET network, dedicated to preserving and expanding the rich history and knowledge of social movements. By fostering intergenerational learning and collaboration, RMP aims to connect past and present generations of activists, ensuring that the valuable lessons from previous movements are passed down and adapted for future challenges.

At the heart of the Radical Memory Project is the belief that the strategies, experiences, and wisdom of previous generations are essential resources for today's activists.

The RMP is committed to:

Bridging Generations: Bringing together older and younger activists to share knowledge and experiences. This intergenerational dialogue is vital for strengthening the collective memory and ensuring that each generation builds upon the successes and lessons of the past.

Revitalising Historical Archives: We are committed to introducing the PET Network's extensive back catalogue of materials to a new generation. By making these resources accessible and relevant, we aim to inspire and inform contemporary movements.

Sustaining Institutional Memory: We aim to create a lasting repository of the history, strategies, and reflections of social struggle. This will serve as an ongoing educational resource, helping activists learn from the past to better navigate the future.
